Blogging, Birthday celebrations, close friends, and a heavy workload

Blogging, Birthday celebrations, close friends, and a heavy workload

Blogging my way out of fear state Whew I missed a few blogging days.  Not the intention of a monthly blogging challenge surely.  But what I have learned about the daily blogging challenge are: Blogging is not as big a deal as I had made it out to be in my head.  Truly, it is possible to do it regularly. You don’t have to worry about SEO.  Its nice but as some other websites suggested…there are companies out there dedicated…

Perfect “keep going” message

Perfect “keep going” message

KEEP GOING This is the message I received when I queried my cards regarding my current work strategy. I use the Mystical Cats deck for my readings. I love the deck for the messages the writer gave in the guide book. They are positive and easily applicable to your life. I also use the Deck of 1000 spreads. It is well designed to help you clarify your question and understand the answer. This deck can be used with any tarot…

Archetypes, new moon art journaling, and chakra class

Archetypes, new moon art journaling, and chakra class

Today was a jam packed and successful day at my day job.  I’m so thankful to say that I have many more of these type of days then not. At the end if my work day  I was able to log off of my work computer and get right to my research and art projects.  I finished my mini Chakra reference journal (learning the basics in Andrea Gomoll’s Color Magic class, finished my new moon in Aries painting, and started reading…

Blueberry picking and birthday parties

Blueberry picking and birthday parties

This morning we went blueberry picking at a local farm. Early season so they weren’t all ready yet but the color range is cool.  I’m thinking of arting the colors.  I love supporting my local farms. Food is so much better when we can shrink the food to table time. From here the blueberries get eaten fresh, flash frozen for meals, and freeze dried for long term storage and smoothies or whatever else we need dried blueberries for.   My…

Daniel Smith watercolors and a huge swatch session

Daniel Smith watercolors and a huge swatch session

I recently decided it was time to get serious about watercolor and learn how to use this media better. I tried the mighty convenient waterbrush and painting….not bad. But certainly not as beautiful as that wet on wet technique I just could not achieve. It sounds so stupid…add a lot of water. Add paint. Instant painting. Nope. That’s just not true. There is a finesse to it. A time for water and a time for not. It took me a…

Missed day 11 makeup

Missed day 11 makeup

I’m sure it’s cheating to squeeze in day 11’s post early on day 12. But maybe this just extends my challenge by 1 day. Or maybe the challenge fades and it has the effect of creating a habit and I still keep posting. Because posting takes practice and time. But time shrinks the more practice you get. So all in all I come out ahead. Even if I’m a day behind. Sensical? Ha For day 11 it was all paying…

Work, sacral, doodling

Work, sacral, doodling

Blogging for the challenge tonight. Won’t even share. Cause the sharing part isn’t the challenge. The writing is. So I’m writing. It’s been a long day of work, good but long. Not enough time for play. But I did get the study in for the Sacral chakra. To come to realize I have some work to do there. Im enjoying doodling in my little Chakra journal with my liquid chrome marker. Love that marker. I am giving watercolors another go….

Resistance Is futile, painting in diamonds….and a cat

Resistance Is futile, painting in diamonds….and a cat

Tonight I have to push back against my resistance to write my blog challenge post.  It reared up and said…oh go paint. It’s just one day. But I know me and if I did just one day it would then be two and then a week and….you get the point. so tonight I bring three things: 1) that I learned I had a solid connection to my root chakra already and I have been grounding with smoky quartz for years….

Beginning to learn about Chakra energy

Beginning to learn about Chakra energy

About a month or so ago Effy Wild was teaching a concept in Moonshine and referenced Chakra energy….following along with the concept…of if you don’t know it don’t use it. Chakra’s have been on my list to study. Because I wholeheartedly agree with Effy on her stance. I don’t know it. So I can’t use it yet. Or identify that I am using it for using it correctly. For sometimes that is exactly what happens. But chakras were a difficult…

Garden Tour Spring 2018 – part 1

Garden Tour Spring 2018 – part 1

I enjoy gardening as one of my hobbies.  I started gardening about 7 years ago in Colorado. Colorado has very rocky and clay based soil and it’s hard to do in ground gardening so I had an herb garden in containers. I started with one, then 3, then 5. When we moved to Florida almost 5 years ago I was instantly able to grow year round and grow all kinds of new plant types. It’s been a huge learning experience…
